Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate, which is a naturally occurring B vitamin. Foods that are naturally high in folate include leafy vegetables, okra, asparagus, certain fruits, beans, yeast, mushrooms, animal liver and kidney, orange juice and tomato juice.
